Aletria Doce (Portugal)

It is a Portuguese sweet pasta made with sugar, milk, egg yolk, and lots of cinnamon. It is a traditional dish enjoyed across Portugal, particularly around Christmas time. For those with a sweet tooth and love pasta, this is perfect dessert.

Cherpumple (Los Angeles, U.S.A)

It is a holiday novelty dessert, inspired by Turducken. It is three-layered cake with a pie in each layer. Cherpuple is short for cherry, pumpkin, and apple pie.

Tavuk Göğsü (Turkey)

It is a kind of milk pudding common in traditional Turkish cuisine, whose name literally means “Chicken Breast”.  It uses chicken breasts pounded with sugar, thickened with flour, and dusted with cinnamon.

Martabak (Yamen, Indonesia)

It is a stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread which is commonly found in Saudi Arabia, southeast Asia and across the Arab world. In Indonesia, there are two types of Martabak, a sweat and savory. It is called “Avocado Cream”. It is a traditional dessert of a puree of avocados, lime juice, sugar and ice water. In Brazil, Avocado become delicious ice creams and creamy desserts like this one.

Phirni (India)

Phirni is also known as Firni, Rice Pudding in India. It is made during festivals, marriages, and ceremonies. Main ingredients for this dessert are rice and milk. For people who are calorie concious could use skimmed milk instead of full cream milk.

It takes a total of 72 hours to creat and cost $1000 (for one piece that is). It is basically an edible block of gold. The gold is flavored with pears, apricots, figs and quince that have been steeping for two whole years in Jamacan rum. The other main ingredient is shaved, caramelized black truffles. The cake is then covered with 24-carat gold leaf. These valuable cakes are only available by special order for weddings or special events.
